It’s a great time of the year and Southern Rural Water is out and about talking to customers and stakeholders, meeting with folks at Bacchus Marsh, Maffra and Lardner Park throughout February and March.
We recently met with Bacchus Marsh growers at a drop-in session on 28 February, which was an opportunity for customers in the irrigation district to talk to Southern Rural Water team members in an open and relaxed setting.
It was the second drop-in session, following the inaugural event in October last year. The sessions are very informal – a chance for customers to pop in for a cuppa and chat with our team on various topics, including operations, maintenance, water allocations, projects and more.
Southern Rural Water is also a major sponsor of the Gippsland Food and Fibre Awards, to be held in Maffra on 31 May. This is a fantastic event showcasing the region’s producers and agribusiness leaders, and we are excited to be involved.
We are especially thrilled to present the award for the Female Agribusiness Leader of the Year. We have advocated for, and promoted the role of women in agriculture, and have a strong commitment to employ and promote women in our organisation.
We also look forward to meeting all the award nominees and Gippsland businesses that are doing amazing things in agriculture.
Another event we are looking forward to is Farm World at Lardner Park, to be held from 22–24 March.
Our Groundwater and Rivers team will again have a presence at this showcase event, so if you’re attending, come and say hello to them. Speak to our team on all things groundwater and rivers, including dams, bores, licensing and compliance.
Talk to us about the groundwater interactive map, our essential new resource launched in 2023 that allows users to easily access groundwater information. We can show you how to use the map and look for the detail that you need.
Our knowledgeable team will do their best to answer questions – and take questions on notice that we cannot answer on the day.
