Southern Rural Water is calling for Expressions of Interest from stakeholders and community groups to join a Stakeholder Reference Group for the Moorabool Maribyrnong Water Resources Project.
The project aims to identify the cultural, environmental, social and economic values in the upper Moorabool and upper Maribyrnong catchments, investigate water risks, and the opportunities to improve the sustainable management of limited water resources.
General Manager Strategy, People and Culture Elisa Hunter said the reference group will provide valuable insights and perspectives on the challenges and opportunities in both catchments.
“Feedback received from the group will help to quantify the impacts of water usage and identify opportunities to improve the way water is managed in future,” she said.
The Stakeholder Reference Group will meet six times at key stages of the project. Those interested can apply to join via the Expression of Interest form on our project page.
The Moorabool Maribyrnong Water Resources Project forms part of the implementation plan for the Central and Gippsland Region Sustainable Water Strategy.
The project is funded by the Victorian Government and is being delivered by Southern Rural Water.
