Acting Capital Delivery Manager Amanda Castle believes that everyone should feel they can be their whole self at work – whatever their gender.
Amanda, who has participated in a number of leadership programs, places great emphasis on supporting females in leadership roles.
“By investing in the growth of female leadership, we can ensure greater equity in the workplace,” she said.
“Backing women into leadership roles helps to create equitable decision-making and a clear path for new staff to understand that female leadership is appreciated at Southern Rural Water.”
Amanda has participated in the Women in Water Leadership development program and the Peter Cullen Trust.
“The program gave me a much wider perspective and taught me how best to harness this difference to produce effective outcomes.
Amanda said outstanding performance not only provided recognition of hard work, but also showcased to other females that they could push through any workplace barrier.
“Celebrating women’s achievements provides a visible pathway for new employees to see that female leadership is valued at Southern Rural Water,” she said.
