Southern Rural Water declared a spill in the Macalister Irrigation District (MID) on Tuesday 5 September that will be reviewed until Tuesday, 20 September.

A new fishway being designed for Maffra Weir will allow endangered and significant native fish species to travel upstream along the Macalister River. Southern Rural Water and West Gippsland Catchment Management Authority are partners in designing and building the fishway, with funding from the Victorian Government.
